Come One, Come All, Come Crawl!

ArtCrawl: Houston’s Biggest & Best Free Art Show is Back
Houston’s downtown artists will showcase artwork at 2016 annual ArtCrawl event.

Downtown Houston is bracing for the 24th Annual Artist’s Warehouse “ArtCrawl” held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Hardy & Nance Studios, a popular art warehouse on the map, will feature food, drink and showcase a variety of guest artists in their gallery section, including Daniel Elliott, Jill Hakala and Dandee Warhol. The venue will also open its doors to the public on Sunday, November 20th from noon to 5:00 p.m. offering art enthusiasts an extra day to visit.

After you visit ArtCrawl headquarters (
720 Walnut St, Downtown Houston 77002), visitors are encouraged to visit Hardy & Nance Studios (902 Hardy Street) to eat, drink and see approximately 30 open studios featuring original art in various mediums, including watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. Over 150 artists will participate in this year’s ArtCrawl event. Visitors will witness first hand a cluster of historic warehouses inside the historic Arts Warehouse District.  Many artists who rarely let you take a peek inside will open their working art studios, live-in and exhibition spaces to the public during this event.

Other participating artists include
David Adickes (2401 Nance), who is known for his sculpted giant presidential heads and Beatles statues and Art Squares (2315 Commerce). Solo shows, music, break dancers and more will perform at various venues and will be included on the official map. Maps are available online and at Hardy & Nance Studios.

Need a ride or a bite to eat? Visit all of the participating venues via MetroRail, car, hike or bike. A Bike-Scramble-Tour will be led by pedal master Matt Adams, offering off-the-beaten-path ArtCrawl warehouses. Remember to knock twice at the
Last Concert Cafe (1403 Nance), which will open early at 11:00 am to accommodate hungry and thirsty “ArtCrawlers.” The event will be patrolled by mounted Houston Police.

Designated FREE parking has been donated by UHD downtown and there is plenty of metered parking and additional lots available at each downtown warehouse.

Hardy & Nance will feature many artists and photographers during ArtCrawl, including Claire Richards, Brandon Bishop, Kenneth Hudson, Michael Abramowitz, Naz Kaya-Erdal, Elena Sandovici, Lizbeth Ortiz, Nate Blanski, Edgar Medina, Stacy Smith, Robin Baker, Matt Messinger, David Pilgrim, Heather Jones  Taylor, Alex Barber, L.
